Meeting New Friends

Meeting my Dad's childhood friend Dallas. I really liked him a lot because he would talk to me in silly voices and play with me. He is pretty goofy.
I even enjoyed just resting in his lap. Hopefully, he has a baby soon to play with me.
Here we are with our friends Cameron and Cambrielle Brown. Daddy went to high school with Cameron. Cambrielle was born one week after me.

I'm pretty round compared to my friend Cambrielle.

Daddy's First Father's Day

My Daddy had a great Father's Day. We went to church in the morning and then went on a hike in the afternoon. I rode in the backpack for the first time. I enjoyed looking all around at the scenery and was happy as long as my Daddy kept moving. We also enjoyed a picnic by the river I was so good for the most part, however, I seemed to have developed a really bad rash. The rash was so bad that we had to spend our evening in the emergency room but it turned out to just be a part of my illness I've been fighting.

We're all dressed up for church.
Mommy and I resting after the hike.
I like my backpack.

Daddy and I walking through Boulder Cave. We were looking for bats but couldn't find any. Mommy was a little nervous walking through the dark tunnel. We only had one flashlight and we had to walk single file through the cave.

Daddy thought the water was a little cold.

Here I am all content riding on my Daddy's back.

Update Coming Soon

I promise to provide some blogs by the end of the week. It has become pretty difficult balancing the job of motherhood and my actual job especially when you work 40+ hours a week. We are managing to get through it but let me tell you it has not been without trials and tribulations. Let's just say that Daddy can't be done with school soon enough. Clare is growing so fast and everyday is such a great adventure. I can't wait to share some of the things our little one is starting to accomplish. She is such a blessing.

Clare's First Illness

Clare has had her first illness for the last couple of weeks. It was the longest week and half of our lives. Clare is a great sleeper and normally sleeps 9 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.. Well about two weeks ago from this she woke up in the middle of the night screaming. We tried to pacify her and rock her back to sleep but every time we laid her down she would scream and squirm. I stayed up until 4:30 a.m. holding her in my arms. Mitch and I thought she was just having an off night and we're frustrated that she wouldn't sleep in her own bed, which she has been doing since she was 2 weeks old. The next night the same thing happened, we laid her down about 9 and she was screaming at 10 wanting to be picked up. We spent another night sitting with her in the recliner. This continued and I finally took her to the doctor. They ran all sorts of tests on her and even had to put a catheter in her to be able to get a sample of urine to test the functions of her kidneys. Thankfully all the tests came back negative. It was so hard seeing her in so much pain but there was nothing we could do. It turns out she just had a virus that was running its course.

We thought she was on the mend on Friday but over the weekend she continued to not sleep at all on her own and she definitely appeared very uncomfortable. I took her back in to the Doctor's on Monday for some additional tests. It turns out that the virus appeared to have affected her stomach lining, which in turn caused her to get a lot of indigestion and heartburn. Mommy is now on a restrictive diet and can't have any dairy products. Clare also developed a severe rash, which we had to go to the Emergency room for. Fortunately, all the tests came back negative and they still don't know what it was. Again, the Doctors contributed it to her virus. We hope she gets better soon.

Four Months Old

We can't believe that Clare is already four months old. Time seems to be flying by and Clare is changing everyday. She rolls over all the time. We no longer can leave her unattended. She is able to grasp toys and move them up to her mouth. Everything goes in her mouth these days. She also scoots around on her stomach when we lay her on the ground. Some of her favorite things to do are to play in the saucer and her johnny jumper. She is also starting to hold her own bottle when we feed her. Mitch is home for the summer and Clare is enjoying the time she gets to spend with her dad. She is still going to day care a couple days a week so that we can keep her in a routine.
I'm so tired from daycare! I like to sleep with my giraffe.
Look at me such a big girl, I like to stand up on my own and look over the back of the couch.

I like my new shades!!

This is hard work jumping in my Johnny Jumper.
